Alex Verdugo Hits First Home Run Of The Season
Alex Verdugo hit his first home run of the season on Sunday and reached base three times as part of the Red Sox's 14-run outburst against the Orioles. Verdugo got the Red Sox on the board with a three-run home run to left-center in the fourth, a great sign for a player who is at his best when he is using the whole field. Verdugo is still hitting a paltry .212, but his last five games (7-for-22, five extra-base hits) are seasons to be encouraged about his season going forward.
