The Vancouver Canucks have signed goaltender Braden Holtby to a two-year, $8.6 million contract on Friday, with the deal carrying an average annual value of $4.3 million. Holtby's move to the Canucks comes as a surprise due to the fact that the team had shown interest in re-signing pending unrestricted free agent Jacob Markstrom leading up to the start of free agency, but the signing of Holtby gives the young core of players on the Canucks an experienced netminder heading into the upcoming season. Holtby posted a disappointing 2019-20 season, as the 31-year-old went 25-14-6 to go along with a 3.11 goals against average and .897 save percentage through 48 games. Holtby's arrival to the Canucks may limit Thatcher Demko's value after a strong performance during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but both goalies will be worth owning across standard fantasy formats in 2021.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
