The Boston Bruins took the first game of the best-of-seven, first-round series against the Carolina Hurricanes by a score of 4-3 in double-overtime. Patrice Bergeron had the winning goal. David Pastrnak, Charlie Coyle, and David Krejci had the other goals for Boston. Brad Marchand added two helpers. Goaltender Tuukka Rask, whose health has been in question, stopped 25 of 28 shots. At the other end of the ice, Carolina's top scorers were kept off the scoresheet with goals coming from less likely sources in Joel Edmundson, Haydn Fleury and Brock McGinn. Sebastian Aho did chip in an assist. Petr Mrazek stopped 36 of 40 shots in the losing effort. --Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
