After losing the first two games of the best-of-five playoff series to the Carolina Hurricanes, the New York Rangers are turning to rookie goaltender Igor Shesterkin in Game 3. Shesterkin was an early favorite to start Game 1 before an undisclosed injury kept him on the sidelines. The club turned to goalie Henrik Lundqvist for the first two games and he played reasonably well against a high-powered offense. Lundqvist allowed seven goals on 71 shots through his first two starts. The teams are also playing on back-to-back days, which could be a factor in the decision given that the veteran goalie is 38 years old and coming off a long layoff. The 24-year-old Shesterkin was excellent in the regular season with a .932 save percentage and 2.52 GAA. --Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
