Jacob deGrom Going For MRI Exam

New York Mets manager Luis Rojas said starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (back) is day-to-day and is going for an MRI exam on Wednesday. Rojas said it's too early to speculate on deGrom's status for Sunday's exhibition game against the Yankees and for Opening Day next Friday. The right-hander left his intrasquad start early on Tuesday after experiencing back tightness, so even if deGrom is cleared to make his Opening Day start, he probably will be a big risk for his price in DFS. deGrom won his second straight National League Cy Young award in 2019 and is an obvious elite fantasy ace, but this injury could vault Gerrit Cole to the consensus top pick among pithers.
