Chase Elliott has seen varying levels of success in previous races at Darlington. In five starts at the South Carolina track, Elliott has three finishes of 11th or better, with one top-five finish in 2018. So far this season, Elliott ranks fourth in laps in the top 15 (826), second in average running position (8.4) and first in laps led (186), fastest laps (119) and driver rating (110.4). Elliott has run well through the first four races in 2020 and has strong equipment, but Darlington is not one of his favored tracks. Elliott’s history at the “track too tough to tame” is too inconsistent to lock him into lineups, and he should only be considered as a tournament play, especially when there are cheaper and better alternatives.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
