Gio Gonzalez Slowed With Shoulder Discomfort
Gio Gonzalez (shoulder) is dealing with discomfort in his shoulder and has been slowed down by the team in camp. Gonzalez's injury is minor and he should be ready for Opening Day, but he'll be slowed in early Cactus League action as a precaution. The 34-year-old left-hander was solid for Milwaukee in 2019, posting a 3.50 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 78 strikeouts and 37 walks in 17 starts and two relief outings in 87 1/3 innings. If he's healthy to start the year, Gonzalez should be in Chicago's starting rotation. He's been an up-and-down fantasy arm with inconsistent results on a start-by-start basis, and pitching home games in Chicago isn't ideal. But the veteran lefty could be a solid DFS streamer in the right matchups.
