Carey Price Turns Back the Clock, Stops 40 Shots in Loss
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price looked like his former self in the season opener, turning away 40 of 43 shots against the Carolina Hurricanes before ultimately losing in a shootout. After four straight seasons of a .923 save percentage or better, Price came back down to earth in the past two seasons, posting a .900 and .918 save percentage respectively. The Canadiens will need him to have a comeback season in 2019-2020 if he wants to make a cup run with this roster, and this game could be the beginning of a successful run for the former Vezina and Hart Memorial Trophy winner.
