Case Keenum Practicing Primarily With First-String
5 years agoWashington Redskins quarterback Case Keenum finds himself in a competitive camp battle for the starting job, but he appears to be leading the pack. Keenum has been getting most of the first-team work as the Redskins prepare for their preseason opener next week, according to Rick Snider of the Washington Post. Assuming he holds serve throughout the preseason, Keenum getting the Week 1 start is best-case scenario for Washington's pass-catchers. Emmanuel Sanders thrived with Keenum as his quarterback last season in Denver, and Keenum had great success with both Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen in Minnesota the year before that. Of course, the Redskins are without a single receiver regarded as highly as those former teammates of Keenum's, so it will be interesting to see if he is able to improve the passing game as a whole. In any case, we have seen Keenum develop fantasy-friendly rapports with wideouts in the past, so keep an eye on which ones in Washington are able to earn his trust.
