Toronto Maple Leafs center John Tavares tallied a goal in his team's 4-2 defeat of the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday. After going down 3-0, the Jets scored two goals early in the third period before Tavares put the game away with an insurance marker to make it 4-2. The highly-prized acquisition of the summer is off to a terrific start with his new club, having posted 12 points (seven goals, five assists) in his first ten games of the campaign. Tavares is an elite center in this league and should be cemented as a permanent starter in fantasy lineups. The 28-year-old will try to light the lamp for the eighth time as the Leafs play the second leg of a home-and-home with the Jets on Saturday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
