Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Austin Meadows went 3-for-4 with his first career home run and two RBI in a loss to the San Diego Padres on Sunday. His homer, a two-run blast that traveled 420 to right-center field, came in the sixth inning and reduced the Padres' lead to 4-3 at the time. After breaking out for 12 homers in 87 games in 2016, Meadows had hit just six long balls in his last 113 minor-league games. It's tough to project his power moving forward, but the no-doubter certainly showed he has some pop in his bat. He's 5-for-11 through his first three big-league games and should continue seeing regular playing time until Starling Marte (oblique) returns.--Matt Wilkes
