Ross Stripling Will Start For Dodgers Monday

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Ross Stripling will make his first start of the year on Monday versus the Diamondbacks in Arizona. Stripling has worked exclusively out of the bullpen this year but has started in the previous two seasons. He's been effective in his long-man role, striking out 16 batters and walking six in 16 1/3 innings over 10 appearances. He might be helped by the humidor in Arizona, but is a risky start against the formidable division leader. He also hasn't pitched more than two innings in a game and Brock Stewart was called up Sunday to back him up in relief. Stripling won't likely go for more than four innings, so he can safely be ignored if you have a start limit or you're looking for a quality start or win. If you're looking to pad your ratios, however, he may be useful since he can slot into your RP position.
