If you ask two different people about their thoughts on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford, you would probably get two different answers. Some people believe he is super talented and the Eagles shouldn’t let him test free agency during the offseason. Others think he has absolutely no business being a starting quarterback in the league.
Whatever the case, Bradford is refusing to discuss his future with the team.
"I'll get into that in the offseason. I'll think about that in the offseason," Bradford said, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I'm not too worried about what's going to happen three or four months down the line. We've got a big game this weekend against Arizona, that's what I want to focus on."
My opinion of Bradford is that you should not consider starting him in Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals. Not only do the Cardinals have a great secondary, Bradford has been too inconsistent to trust, especially in the fantasy football playoffs.
Through 11 games with the Eagles he has completed 63.2 percent of his passes for 2664 yards, 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
One quarterback who likely does have long-term job security is Tyrod Taylor. Since taking over as the Buffalo Bills starter, he has become one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league.
"Let’s put it this way," Bills GM Doug Whaley said, according to Monday Morning Quarterback. "He’s shown us enough that we can obviously keep trying with him. But it won’t preclude us from going out and protecting ourselves [in case] he’s not."
Taylor has completed 63.5 percent of his passes thus far this season for 2439 yards and 18 touchdowns, with only five interceptions. In addition, he has 71 rushes for 371 yards and another three touchdowns. And at only 26-years-old, he should only get better as the team builds around him.
I would consider Taylor a QB1 this week against the Washington Redskins.
In other quarterback news, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis has said it is “unlikely” that Andy Dalton plays in Week 16 against the Denver Broncos. Dalton has already been ruled out for Week 15, which means former Alabama star A.J. McCarron will get the start.
Dalton had his best season as a pro this year before getting injured. He had completed 66.1 percent of his passes for 3250 yards, 25 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. Unless McCarron plays lights out, it is hard to imagine the Bengals going in a different direction at quarterback next year.
