Fantasy football owners of DeSean Jackson can’t be very happy with the wide receiver. After all, he has yet to score a single fantasy point this season. The Washington Redskins’ speedster left the team’s Week 1 game with a hamstring injury and hasn’t seen the field since.
We were led to believe that Jackson would make his return to the football field Week 9 against the New England Patriots, but that is starting to seem uncertain. Jackson remained limited in practice on Thursday, which means he’s anything but a guarantee to play on Sunday.
If Jackson does suit up for the contest, he can be pegged as a WR3 against the Patriots. Although he has a lot of upside, he’s a risky play. He’ll likely be rusty and his timing with quarterback Kirk Cousins will probably be off.

The good news for the Redskins is that they have fared well at the receiver position without Jackson. Pierre Garcon has been solid and Jamison Crowder has stepped up and produced better than anyone could have imagined. The team is also getting a lot of production from tight end Jordan Reed.
Unfortunately, the Redskins offense has still struggled at times due to a lack of run game with Alfred Morris and Matt Jones. I highly doubt Jackson’s return to the field will help in that area.
In other news, Dorial Green-Beckham has received some public advice from interim head coach Mike Mularkey. With Green-Beckham expected to see more playing time due to Kendall Wright being out with a sprained MCL, Mularkey has told the rookie that he needs to become a better run blocker.
"The one thing about him we are stressing to him, is at that size he ought to block better than he does. He has to be more physical," Mularkey said, according to TitansOnline.com. "We are on him about using that body and blowing up some people."
At 6’5” nearly 240lbs, Mularkey is completely right about DGB. With his size he should be one of the better blocking receivers in the game. Then again, the Titans should have known that he would be a work in progress when they drafted him in the second round of the 2015 draft.
DGB has all of the talent to become a great receiver in the league. Only time will tell if he will actually live up to his potential though. Stay tuned!
