FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers & Advice for 9/24/15

By SD Dirk on Flickr [CC BY 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Tom Bellucco analyzes some MLB DFS lineup picks & sleepers for 9/24/15 on FanDuel fantasy baseball daily leagues. His DFS advice and value picks help you win on FanDuel.

It’s the second to last week of the regular season, so time is winding down to get in your last fix of MLB DFS. Because I’m assuming you all know the deal about how I make my decisions, I’m going to keep my articles relatively short and to the point from here on out. If you have any questions as to why I chose a certain player (stats/splits that led me to that decision) feel free to tweet at me @bellroto. Let’s get to work on the slate for Thursday, September 24th!

Editor’s Note: We have some awesome rest of season MLB DFS Services Premium Lineup Picks deals, that include all of our Premium DFS lineup picks, analysis and also exclusive access to all our other Premium tools, apps and resources. Get MLB DFS Premium and get an edge!

Offenses to Target for FanDuel DFS (Pitchers to Pick On)

If you’re playing the early or all day set of games, the Pirates and Rockies in Coors Field during the day is a great place to settle on hitters, especially considering who is pitching (Jeff Lock and Chad Bettis). However, the Mets seem like the sore thumb for the main slate. This dynamo offense led by Yoenis Cespedes takes on righty Josh Smith who has an ERA of 7.71 and a WHIP of 1.98 in his very young season. The game is being played in Great American “Small” Park, so the Mets seem like a safe bet to produce a lot of runs.

There should also be plenty of runs to go around in Boston, where the Rays face-off against lefty Wade Miley (the Rays hit lefties well) and the Red Sox get Erasmo Ramirez (he has been inconsistent as of late). The Red Sox seem to have more offensive fire power, but don’t underestimate some of those Rays bats that have killer WRC+’s against lefties (there’s a bunch of them).

DFS Starting Pitchers to Target for FanDuel

Madison Bumgarner (SP, SFG) - $12,800

If you do choose to focus on the early games, Clayton Kershaw takes the cake for obvious reasons, while Cole Hamels is a fine tournament play. However, the main slate yields a bunch of talent at pitcher with more risk than you might expect. Bumgarner seems to be the best way to avoid all of the risk. He will certainly pick up Ks against the Padres, and he’s been so reliable this year (when not in Colorado) that it makes the price OK.

Steven Matz (SP, NYM) - $8,600

I’ve loved Matz ever since his heroic first start this year. He’s finally settling back in after his arm injury, and he gets a team that will yield some strikeouts for sure. The fear of owning a pitcher in GABP makes him a tournament only play, but the upside with Matz is there. The fact that he’s a shade over 8.5 K helps the hitting department too.

DFS Infielders to Target for FanDuel

Yan Gomes (C, CLE) - $2,500

Five hits and three of them are doubles in his past three starts. At a price just above minimum, a two-hit game is exactly what you’re looking for to spark a tournament win.

Justin Bour (1B, MIA) - $2,800

This guy’s game log shows us that he’s locked in at the plate right now. If he gets a hold of one, there’s no stadium in this galaxy that can hold his fly ball. Tons of tournament winners in the past two months have had Bour in their lineups due to his upside/price combination.

Brian Dozier (2B, MIN) - $2,800 or Jason Kipnis (2B, CLE) - $2,800

Take your pick here. Two superstar who have depleted prices for some strange reason. Both are capable of two-hit games. Dozier’s homerun potential might be slightly higher.

Todd Frazier (3B, CIN) - $2,900

I really do feel like I’m writing the same article every week. How can you price a guy like this below $3,000 and not expect me to pick him every night? Not to mention he has six hits and a homer in his last four starts. Sign me up.

Alcides Escobar (SS, KC) - $2,300

If you’re a regular to my writing, you’ll know that I love Escobar when he’s cheap and leading off. That’s still the case. He registered three hits in his return from a minor injury, and he’ll face a lefty in James Paxton on Thursday.

DFS Outfielders to Target for FanDuel

Yoenis Cespedes (OF, NYM) - $4,500

He’s the reason why you look for bargains at all other positions.

Angel Pagan (OF, SFG) - $2,700

Pagan’s lengthy injury might’ve helped his 2015 campaign, as he’s heating up in September rather than burning out. This is a cheap price for a guy who could homer and steal a base in the same game.

Brandon Guyer (OF, TAM) - $2,800

You could really fill this spot with any Rays outfielder if we’re being honest, but Guyer’s leadoff tendencies and recent hot hitting gives him the edge this time.

Good luck with your FanDuel and DFS lineups RotoBallers!
