Derrick Jones Jr. Out Six Weeks With a Sprained MCL in Right Knee
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Monday that Los Angeles Clippers forward Derrick Jones Jr. (knee) suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee and will be re-evaluated in six weeks. Jones' injury occurred during Sunday's 121-118 loss to the Celtics. Before the setback, the 28-year-old was averaging a career high of 10.9 points per contest. He was also in the team's starting five through 13 outings, producing 2.4 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, and 1.1 assists across 24.9 minutes per game. With Jones out for the foreseeable future, expect veterans Nicolas Batum, Bogdan Bogdanovic (hip) and 23-year-old Kobe Sanders to see expanded roles on the floor.
