Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 8:
Omarion Hampton, RB, Chargers
Trade Value: 37.8
ROS Rank: 61
Los Angeles Chargers running back Omarion Hampton (ankle) is expected to spend more than the minimum four weeks on injured reserve, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. T
he injury that the rookie suffered in Week 5 appears to be serious enough that he'll be out through at least Week 10, and perhaps longer. The Chargers have a Week 12 bye, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Los Angeles hold him out until Week 13, giving him an extra week off to rest.
Losing both Hampton and Najee Harris (Achilles) is a major blow for the Chargers, who will turn to Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal but could also look to make external running back additions.
Verdict: Buy low if the price is reasonable and you have an IR slot
Chris Olave, WR, Saints
Trade Value: 46.1
ROS Rank: 48
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave caught five of his seven targets for 98 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Chicago Bears. Olave briefly exited the contest in the first half and was evaluated in the medical tent, but he returned to the game and proceeded to score a pair of touchdowns.
This was the first two-touchdown game of Olave's career, and he also set a new career-high in fantasy points (26.8 in PPR leagues). The 25-year-old has sneakily been one of the most consistent fantasy receivers this year, scoring double-digit points in all seven of his games so far.
As long as he can continue to avoid the injury bug, he'll remain a strong WR2 option in most leagues. He faces off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week.
Verdict: Target in trades if price is still reasonable
Brock Bowers, TE, Raiders
Trade Value: 46.8
ROS Rank: 47
Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers (knee) has missed the last three games as he recovers from the bone bruise and PCL injury he sustained in the season opener, but according to head coach Pete Carroll, he's expected to return to the field following the team's Week 8 bye.
The Raiders are coming off one of the worst offensive performances in recent history, managing fewer than 100 total yards in a 31-0 shellacking from the Kansas City Chiefs, so for multiple reasons, the bye week comes at a good time. Bowers caught five of eight targets for 103 yards in Week 1, but was clearly limited in his next three outings, lacking his trademark explosiveness as he played with a knee brace.
Rather than risk further injury, the team made the decision to shut him down until he's fully healthy, and he is now in line to play in Week 9 against the Jaguars. While he may need to work himself back into game shape, he should still be inserted right back into starting lineups, as the upside he offers at the position is practically unmatched across the league.
Verdict: Buy low if you have the opportunity and an appetite for some risk
Davante Adams, WR, Los Angeles Rams
Trade Value: 71
ROS Rank: 19
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams had an excellent fantasy day on Sunday by catching five of his eight targets for 35 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-7 rout of Jacksonville.
The veteran didn't do much from a yardage perspective, but created maximum value from his red-zone targets. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford found Adams for touchdowns of two, one, and one yard as L.A. dominated the game from start to finish.
Playing without Puka Nacua (ankle), Adams didn't get much volume, but the Rams ran nearly as many runs as passes thanks to creating an early lead. They'll take their bye next week before playing New Orleans in Week 9.
Verdict: Buy for a fair price if you still can
Fantasy Football Trade Rankings Values
The higher the Trade Value number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Find your players, add up the trade values of each side of the offer, and see which side of the trade wins.
Who Should I Trade For?
Week 8 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Omarion Hampton, Chris Olave, Davante Adams, Chuba Hubbard, De'Von Achane, Brock Bowers. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.
Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.
How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.
How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
