Tyrone Taylor Dealing With Hamstring Discomfort
Tyrone Taylor (hamstring) has been dealing with left-hamstring discomfort for the past few days, but he showed improvement on Monday, manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters. It's unclear if he'll be available on Tuesday against the Detroit Tigers. The right-handed Taylor, who has been platooning in center field with lefty-swinging Cedric Mullins, hasn't played since last Friday. Taylor appeared in nine games in August and went a red-hot 11-for-30 with four doubles, seven RBI, and six runs scored, but he otherwise hasn't offered much offensive production this season. The 31-year-old has hit .218/.277/.315 with two homers, 25 RBI, 33 runs scored, and 11 steals in 328 plate appearances.
