Fantasy Football Draft Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider drafting in 2025:
Cam Ward, QB, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward was selected with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The problem is that he probably would have been the seventh QB taken off the board in 2024's draft -- this year's class was severely lacking in overall talent, though.
Ward has solid athleticism and nice arm strength, and put up impressive numbers in Year 1. However, he'll be joining a team with a head coach that might not even last beyond this season. His receiving corps also projects to be one of the less-inspiring groups in the league. Tennessee's offensive line played very poorly last season, and Ward's biggest problem is that his good play essentially evaporates when he's under duress, giving way to a much worse signal-caller.
While proven veteran Calvin Ridley will lead his receiving room, he does not have many other options to push the ball downfield. As a result, Ward is best left as a QB2 with rushing upside in deeper formats.
Ollie Gordon II, RB, Miami Dolphins
Coming into the 2024 season, perhaps no collegiate running back was thought to have a higher ceiling than Oklahoma State's Ollie Gordon II. Unfortunately, following an inefficient, injury-hampered junior season, Gordon saw his stock plummet before the 2025 NFL Draft, where he was eventually selected in the 6th round by the Miami Dolphins, 179th overall.
The 2023 Doak Walker Award winner will now attempt to carve out a role in an offense that doesn't appear to be a natural fit for his skill set. After taking approximately 58% of his career carries out of a man-gap scheme and then running a disappointing 4.61 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, he'll now battle Jaylen Wright to back up starter De’Von Achane (calf).
His most straightforward path to fantasy relevance will be through goal-line work, where at 6'1" and 226 pounds, he presents a very different look from Achane (5'9", 188 pounds) and Wright (5'10", 210 pounds). Alexander Mattison (neck) out for the year with a neck injury. Achane and Wright are also banged up, Gordon suddenly has a path to touches in Miami’s backfield and could carve out a decent role. With the recent injury news, Gordon comes in as RotoBaller’s RB63 in PPR formats and 22nd in the latest rookie rankings
Kyle Monangai, RB, Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears selected Rutgers running back Kyle Monangai in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft. The former Scarlet Knight had back-to-back 1,200-yard seasons in his final two years in college, earning First-Team All-Big-Ten honors in 2023. Monangai joins the Bears' running back room that consists of D'Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson, and Travis Homer.
Last season, Chicago ranked 25th in rushing yards and averaged the third-fewest yards per carry in the NFL. New head coach Ben Johnson is looking to change that, as he coordinated an elite rushing attack with the Detroit Lions, which never had fewer than 480 rushing attempts in his three seasons as coordinator. Johnson ran a two-back committee with a "Thunder and Lightning" approach. Swift will have the "Lightning" role in this offense, with his big-play ability and his receiving prowess, but the "Thunder" role is up for grabs.
Johnson is the favorite for that role, but averaged the fewest yards per carry among any running back in 2024 (2.7) and had a 0% breakaway run-rate. Monangai's path to playing time is by beating out Johnson for this role. However, only one seventh-round pick has ever run for over 500 yards in their rookie season, with only fellow Rutgers alum Isiah Pacheco accomplishing this feat. Monangai has an opportunity to contribute in his rookie season, but the odds are stacked against him due to his draft capital.
Elijah Arroyo, TE, Seattle Seahawks
Tight end Elijah Arroyo was chosen by the Seattle Seahawks with the 50th overall pick (second round) of the 2025 NFL Draft. One of the concerns for Arroyo is Seattle's quarterback situation. The Seahawks signed Sam Darnold this offseason, who has underperformed outside his stretch with Minnesota last season.
The Vikings, credit to them, have one of the best situations for a QB to have in the league, with elite pass-catching weapons, a fantastic offensive line, and an amazing head coach and play-caller. Seattle surprisingly released tight end Noah Fant during the offseason, opening up the starting spot for Arroyo.
The 22-year-old has impressed in training camp and has now become Seattle's starting tight end. Arroyo is currently ranked TE30 in the latest RotoBaller rankings, but that number could rise if he continues to have a strong training camp.
Kyle Williams, WR, New England Patriots
The New England Patriots chose wide receiver Kyle Williams in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He'll join a team that needs help at wide receiver. New England did sign WR Stefon Diggs to a three-year, $69 million contract in the offseason.
He's 31 years old, and he tore his ACL around midseason last year. Diggs has been cleared to start the season and will be one of New England's top targets. Williams, meanwhile, was one of the most underrated WRs in all of the 2025 draft cycle. His release package is excellent, and yet the offense Williams was in didn't ask him to run a lot of polished NFL receiver routes.
His skills after the catch and with the ball in his hands are one culprit for that, yet they'll be a boon in the NFL as well. Williams should secure the New England's WR3 role behind DeMario Douglas and Diggs. Williams is worth a late-round flier and is currently WR65 in the latest RotoBaller rankings.
