McCade Brown Expected to Start for Rockies on Sunday
MLB.com's Thomas Harding says to expect Colorado Rockies right-handed pitching prospect McCade Brown to be called up from the minors to start on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. The former third-round pick in 2021 has proven that he's fully healthy after having Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in 2023. The 25-year-old has a combined 4-2 record with a 2.67 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 105:30 K:BB in 76 2/3 innings pitched over 20 starts on the farm this year between High-A Spokane and Double-A Hartford. While Brown has handled himself well in Colorado's farm system this year and would have a nice matchup on Sunday against the last-place Bucs, fantasy managers should be wary of rolling with Brown in what would be his MLB debut due to the fact that he has yet to pitch at Triple-A. Brown is not on MLB Pipeline's list of the Rockies' top-30 prospects, either.
