Landen Roupp to Start Friday, Rejoins Giants Rotation
Landen Roupp (elbow) is set to make his first start off the 15-day injured list this Friday against the Rays to open the weekend series. Roupp had been sidelined since July 23 with right elbow inflammation but now has a firm return date. The 26-year-old has put together a solid season with a 3.11 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 95 strikeouts over 20 starts. He'll slot back into a rotation that already includes Justin Verlander, Robbie Ray, and Logan Webb. As the Giants fight to stay in the playoff hunt, Roupp's return could provide a timely boost.
