Miguel Vargas Reinstated and Starting Against Tigers
Miguel Vargas (oblique) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday, the team announced. Vargas is starting at first base and is batting sixth in Tuesday's contest against the division-rival Detroit Tigers and right-hander Jack Flaherty. The 25-year-old miss the minimum of 10 days due to a minor oblique strain, and he'll be hoping to continue swinging a hot bat after he had an .874 OPS in 13 games since the All-Star break. Overall, though, the Cuban infielder has hit a very mediocre .229/.305/.402 on the season with a .707 OPS, 13 home runs, 44 RBI, 57 runs and four stolen bases in his 393 at-bats. There's not a ton of fantasy upside here, especially in DFS. Vargas has faced Flaherty 10 times in his career and has two hits.
