Cross was a regular sleeper in our IDP columns as a rookie, largely because he had the frame and speed to lead his position in tackles. The former Terrapin finally delivered on that potential in 2024, finishing second amongst DBs in total tackles and seventh amongst all defenders in solo tackles. Throw in a career-high three interceptions, and Cross finished 2024 as fantasy's DB3 overall in total points and DB4 in points per game. When you consider Cross is entering his fourth season as a pro and has only one year as a full-time starter, then it's fair to wonder if he is just scratching the surface of what he can be. For those who may worry that Cross didn't become a starter until last year, perhaps thinking he's a box score warrior but a liability on the field, the advanced metrics back up his impressive raw numbers. While Cross did allow a poor 74% completion rate in single coverage, his overall coverage grades were above average, and his missed tackle rate was in the 65th percentile at his position. All signs, fantasy or real data, suggest he is a tackle-collecting monster who should be one of the top DBs drafted.--Chris Gregory - RotoBallerRead More News
