Brenton Doyle Returns From Shoulder Injury
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (shoulder) returned to the lineup for the series opener on Monday in Cleveland against the Guardians after missing four games with a sore right shoulder, according to MLB.com's Thomas Harding. Doyle suffered the injury making a diving catch last Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals and then aggravated the injury on a slide into home plate later in the game. The 27-year-old has hit just .216 with seven homers and 31 RBI in a disappointing season, and his shoulder injury came in the midst of one of his most productive stretches -- he went 8-for-17 (.471) during a five-game stretch. Fantasy managers have been left wondering what has happened after Doyle hit .260/.317/.446 with 23 homers, 30 steals and 72 RBI in a breakout 2024 campaign. A quad injury early in the year and time on the bereavement list stalled what had been a hot start.
