Andres Gimenez Doing Baseball Activities
Andres Gimenez (ankle) is with the team in Toronto for the start of the second half of the season while doing some defensive work and hitting, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet. Gimenez landed on the 10-day injured in early July due to a sprained left ankle, and he was expected to be in a walking boot for five to seven days. The 26-year-old has since ditched the walking boot and is doing some baseball activities, which suggests he could be close to embarking on a minor-league rehab assignment. Ernie Clement got the nod at the keystone in Friday's series opener against the San Francisco Giants, but Leo Jimenez, Will Wagner and Davis Schneider could all see work there until Gimenez returns. Gimenez is more of a defensive asset to Toronto than a fantasy one, as he's hitting just .218 with five homers, 26 runs and 10 steals in 2025.
