It's not very often that DFS managers consider Cole Custer, but he may be a viable low-dollar option in daily fantasy contests this weekend in the Viva Mexico 250. Custer isn't particularly known for his road-course prowess, but he has been serviceable in the past on these twisty race tracks. Looking back to the 2022 season when he was with Stewart-Haas Racing, Custer was able to post finishes of 23rd at COTA, 21st at Sonoma, 15th at Road America, ninth at Indy Road Course, 11th at Watkins Glen, and 24th at the Charlotte Roval. When we look at this weekend at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, the No. 41 Ford was in the mid-20s on the speed chart in both practice sessions, and then Custer went out and qualified 26th for this weekend's race. If he's able to get some track position and crack the top 20 on Sunday, Custer could end up being quite the valuable roster-filler on DraftKings at just a $5,600 driver salary. He's a tournament option for sure--just don't go too crazy.--Jordan McAbee
