Cam Caminiti Looks Good in First Start at Single-A
Atlanta Braves pitching prospect Cam Caminiti made his Single-A debut this past Saturday and did not disappoint. The Braves' top-ranked prospect allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk while striking out eight batters over five innings of work. The Braves' 2024 first-round draft pick made just one start at Single-A last year after being drafted and missed the first part of this year due to forearm tendinitis. The southpaw made four starts with the team's Florida Complex affiliate before debuting on Saturday, and despite a high ERA, struck out 15 hitters in 13 2/3 IP while walking just two. At only 18 years old, the 6-foot-2 hurler has a few years before he hits the big leagues, but in growing up with baseball in his blood (he's the cousin of the late Ken Caminiti) and with a first-round pedigree, there's a good chance he'll have a fantasy impact when that happens.
