Eury Perez to Make Second Rehab Start at Triple-A on Wednesday
Eury Perez (elbow) will make his second minor-league rehab start at Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, according to MLB.com's Christina De Nicola. In his first rehab start with Jacksonville last Wednesday, the 22-year-old gave up two runs on three hits while walking three and striking out seven in 3 1/3 innings. Before that in five rehab starts for Single-A Jupiter, Perez had a 1.80 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 12 strikeouts and three walks in 10 innings. The Dominican hurler didn't pitch at all in 2024 after having Tommy John surgery, but barring a setback on his rehab assignment, he should make his 2025 debut with the Fish before the All-Star break in mid-July. Perez had 108 K's in 91 1/3 innings over his first 19 big-league starts in 2023, but fantasy managers might want to temper expectations upon his return, especially since the Marlins will likely have him on an inning limit.
