Top Hitter Streamers and Starts - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 9 (May 26 - June 1)

Jordan Beck - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Dan's top hitter streamers and starts as fantasy baseball waiver wire adds for Week 9 of 2025 (May 26 - June 1). He analyzes streamers with favorable matchups, schedules.

If you are looking for hitters to stream for the week ahead or maybe even some long-term pick-ups, I'm here every Sunday to give you my favorite fantasy baseball targets!

Our hitter streamers fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with favorable matchups who can be considered waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions. Players who appear in this article will always be rostered in 40 percent or fewer leagues on Yahoo!

In this piece, every week, I'll look to find hitters playing in the most games and who have the most favorable matchups to help you plug those gaps and fill those holes in your roster. You can also check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content here at RotoBaller. Let's see which hitters we should consider grabbing off the wire as we roll into Week 9 of the fantasy baseball season!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

What Teams Offer the Most Streaming Value in Week 9?

Most MLB teams are playing six games this week.

The only teams playing seven games are Tampa and Toronto.

Ballpark Upgrades:

  • MIN (3 games in Tampa)

Week 9 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

I'll recommend only players who are 40 percent rostered or lower, and all roster percentages are from Yahoo!

Jordan Beck, OF - COL (35% rostered)

Despite some excellent recent production, Beck continues to fly too far under the radar. His power seems to come and go in spurts, but the rookie is entrenched as the leadoff man for the Rockies and has a hit in seven of his last eight games, including three multi-hit games.

We've seen both his power and speed in the minors, and he's slowly starting to become a more consistent hitter in the majors. It's a developmental season for Colorado; they have no reason not to play him every day, and I think we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg in terms of what he can do. Buy low on him now while you still can.

Gabriel Moreno, C - ARI (32% rostered)

The Arizona catcher has found his power stroke. Moreno has hit three of his four home runs this season in his last four games.

We've seen him put up some very solid offensive statistics the last two seasons, but if he increases his power numbers, he could push up into the Catcher-1 conversation.

Chase Meidroth, 2B/SS/3B - CWS (32%)

Meidroth continues to hit as the leadoff man for the White Sox. He's riding an 11-game hitting streak right now and has five stolen bases in his last seven games. You can't argue with this type of production from a middle infielder, as he's been a huge asset in batting average, runs, and steals. He's eligible at third base, too, so he makes for a great utility man for fantasy rosters.

Alec Burleson, OF - STL (29% rostered)

Yes, the one issue with Burleson is that he won't start against lefties very often. But he's still on the strong side of the platoon, and he's been swinging a hot bat of late, hitting .435 with two home runs and five RBI in the last two weeks.

I love the upcoming schedule for Burleson and the Cards' lefties. They head to Camden Yards first this week to face an ailing Orioles pitching staff in one of the best ballparks for left-handed power.

Chandler Simpson, OF - TBR (28% rostered)

I had Simpson on my list last week, and he will remain here until he's rostered in more leagues. This kid has blazing speed and should be rostered for his steals alone, if nothing else. He swiped four more bags this week and is now up to 13 on the season.

He missed a few days last week with minor injuries, but I expect him to continue to be an everyday player for Tampa, one of only two teams with a full seven games this week.

Nick Kurtz, 1B - ATH (24% rostered)

The rookie has been on a power surge of late, mashing four more home runs this week and driving in nine runs in his last five games. The power is substantial, and as he starts to make more contact and strike out less often, his offensive numbers will only improve.

Don't forget he's playing half his games in a hitter-friendly minor league stadium. Kurtz will have his ups and downs, as most rookies do, but the arrow is pointing up, and I won't be surprised if he finishes the season with 20 to 25 homers.

Marcelo Mayer, SS - BOS (22% rostered)

Get those FAAB bids in on Mayer! The day has come for the rookie to make his debut for the Red Sox, and the early word on Alex Bregman is that he will miss "substantial time" with his injury. Mayer is a top-5 prospect in all of baseball and should get a chance to hit somewhere in the middle of the Boston lineup. If he plays a lot of third base, he will also quickly earn 3B eligibility.

This is an uber-talented player with massive upside; I'm being aggressive and targeting him everywhere I can.

Gavin Sheets, 1B/OF - SD (20% rostered)

I mentioned it last week, but Sheets has hit so well this year that he's forced his way into the lineup as an everyday player, not just a platoon bat. He's launched four home runs over the last week and continues to produce solid RBI numbers from this six-slot in the Padres' lineup.

Trevor Larnach, OF - MIN (13% rostered)

Larnach continues to go overlooked despite hitting in the top third of the order for the Twins and providing seven home runs, 23 RBI, and 28 runs scored this season. His production tailed off a bit last week, but the Twins head to Tampa to open up this week, and Larnach should see three right-handed starting pitchers in a great hitting environment there.

Connor Norby, 2B/3B - MIA (12% rostered)

I was ready to skip Norby this week, and then he went 3-5 last night with his third home run of the season. I really like his game, and I think he will continue to hit this season and end up having a pretty solid year when the dust finally settles. I'm content to stash him on the bench for now and plug him in occasionally when he has a good matchup or my starters are resting.

Cam Smith, 3B/OF - HOU (11% rostered)

The power hasn't been there, but Smith is hitting .357 over the last two weeks with seven runs scored as the Houston offense continues to trend up after a slow start. He's too talented not to get it going here at some point, and the increased contact and improved batting average are a good start.

Nolan Schanuel, 1B - LAA (10% rostered)

The last two-week sample for Schanuel is impressive. He's hitting .375 with 10 runs scored, and he hit his third home run this week, too.

He's an unconventional first-baseman for fantasy in that you are going to get middle infielder-type stats from him (runs, average) instead of power (HR and RBI), but he's been hitting the ball too well not to draw more rostership in deep leagues.

Week 9 Deeper League Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers to Consider

Some widely available hitters (under 10 percent rostered) could be worth a look this week.

Good luck this week, and choose those streaming options wisely!
