Gleyber Torres Leaves Early on Thursday With Leg Discomfort
Gleyber Torres (leg) was removed from Thursday's game early against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians at Comerica Park with lower right-leg discomfort, according to the Detroit Free Press' Evan Petzold. It's unclear how serious Torres' injury is, but we should have a better idea after the team evaluates him following the game. Before exiting early, the 28-year-old infielder went 0-for-2 at the plate before being replaced at the keystone by Andy Ibanez. Torres appeared to be limping down the dugout steps after lining out to center field in the third inning. Coming into Thursday's game, Torres has looked good in his first year with the Tigers, slashing .281/.363/.432 with five homers, 24 RBI, 20 runs and four steals in 139 at-bats. He has already been on the injured list with a hamstring injury this year, so his injury could be related to that.
