Hunter Brown Hit Hard on Wednesday Against Rays
Hunter Brown has had a fantastic 2025 season, but it just wasn't his day in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Brown wasn't missed many bats and ended up allowing five earned runs on seven hits (three homers) while walking two and striking out four in five innings of work for his third loss of the year. It was the first time all year that the 26-year-old allowed more than three runs in a start, and the poor showing only raised his season ERA to 2.04. Brown also allowed more home runs on Wednesday than he had in any of his previous nine starts this year. Curtis Mead, Josh Lowe and Brandon Lowe were the ones to take him deep on Wednesday, with the two Lowes going for back-to-back jobs in the fifth frame. Fantasy managers shouldn't get too discouraged and should leave Brown in their starting lineups for a solid matchup next week against the Athletics.
