Junior Caminero Not in Wednesday's Lineup
Junior Caminero will take a seat on Wednesday when his team hosts the visiting Houston Astros. Teammate Curtis Mead is batting eighth and handling the hot corner against the Astros' Hunter Brown in his stead. It looks to be a regular day off for the 21-year-old, but it's the second time in five outings he'll ride the pine against a righty. Caminero has been in a bit of a cold spell in May, batting .180 (11-for-65) in the month with two home runs, two runs scored, and a 2:12 K:BB ratio. On the bright side, the righty slugger has been better statistically than he was over a similar sample size last season, aside from his average (.230). He isn't likely to be in danger of losing his spot in the lineup at this time.
