Team Penske's Ryan Blaney will start 12th for Sunday's AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway. When considering his starting position last week at Texas, this is the first time since March that Blaney will have back-to-back starting positions outside of the top 10 this season. In 20 Cup starts at Kansas, Blaney has eight top-10 finishes and placed 12th or better in five of the last six Cup events at the site. In 11 races completed this year, Blaney has five top-10 finishes, including three top-5s in the last four Cup events and an average finish of 17.3. In practice, Blaney ranked 31st in overall lap averages while ranking as high as ninth in 15 consecutive lap averages.
