William Byron of Hendrick Motorsports had a largely underwhelming performance during Sunday's Cook Out 400. Beginning the race from the 10th position, Byron would run around his starting position through most of the first stage, but his team would struggle through pit stops all race long. In the first stage, due to pit issues, Byron finished 26th. During the second stage, Byron recovered to the 13th position, but he could still not collect any stage points. In the final stage, Byron's pit crew had further issues on pit road, causing him to restart in the back of the pack once again. The No. 24 Chevrolet driver would not have the speed to make moves during the race's late stages and settled for a finish of 22nd. This would be the second time since 2021 that Byron failed to score a top-20 finish at Martinsville.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
