College Football Programs Ranked By Winning Percentage Since 2020: Top 10 Teams

Kirby Smart - CFB NCAA Football - Head Coaches

RotoBaller lists the top 10 college football programs with the most wins since 2020? Who are the best NCAA CFB programs in the 2020s decade so far?

Kirby Smart - CFB NCAA Football - Head Coaches

1. Georgia - 89.7%

Win-Loss Record: 61-7
Conference/National Championships: Two/Two

Kirby Smart has built Georgia into a powerhouse program after Mark Richt hit his ceiling in the mid-2010s. Is Georgia the next Alabama-like dynasty, or is the NIL era going to prevent one program from consistently dominating?

Ryan Day - College Football Picks, Ohio State, Head Coach

2. Ohio State - 85.7%

Win-Loss Record: 54-9
Conference/National Championships: One/One

Ryan Day dealt with a ton of criticism before winning the 2024-25 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Day still needs to find a way to beat Michigan, but Ohio State is clearly not going away anytime soon.

Alabama Crimson Tide - College Team Logo Stock

3. Alabama - 85.3%

Win-Loss Record: 58-10
Conference/National Championships: Three/One

Alabama wasn’t quite as dominant through the first five seasons of the 2020s as they were in the 2010s. However, they still captured a national title and reigned supreme in the SEC. Moving forward, Kalen DeBoer looks to continue what Nick Saban built in Tuscaloosa.

Michigan Wolverines - NCAA College Team Logo Stock

4. Michigan - 80.7%

Win-Loss Record: 50-12
Conference/National Championships: Three/One

After a long stretch without legitimately competing for National Championships, Michigan alum Jim Harbaugh built a powerhouse in Ann Arbor to kick off the 2020s. Michigan is officially back, but Sherrone Moore needs to keep the program on track after a mediocre first campaign at the helm.

Marcus Freeman - Notre Dame Football - College Football Rankings - CFB Head Coaches

5. Notre Dame - 80.6%

Win-Loss Record: 54-13
Conference/National Championships: None/None

Brian Kelly and Marcus Freeman have both contributed to the program’s success over the last five years, but Freeman finally got over the hump and won a handful of big games. The Irish fell just short of a National Championship, but the 2024 campaign proved the Irish can compete for it all.

Oregon Ducks - NCAA College Team Logo Stock

6. Oregon - 79%

Win-Loss Record: 49-13
Conference/National Championships: Two/None

Between Mario Cristobal and Dan Lanning, the Ducks have continued to win at a high clip in the 2020s after Chip Kelly and Mark Helfrich found major success in the 2010s. Oregon won the Big Ten in the first year as a participant, setting the tone for the program for years to come.

Clemson Tigers - NCAA College Team Logo Stock

7. Clemson - 75.8%

Win-Loss Record: 50-16
Conference/National Championships: Three/None

There are claims that Clemson has fallen from the elites of college football, but the Tigers have won three ACC titles and competed in two College Football Playoffs since its last national title in 2018. The 2025 Clemson squad could be Dabo Swinney’s best since Trevor Lawrence was on campus, so don’t be surprised if Clemson is back in the race to win the whole thing.

malik willis fantasy football rankings rookies draft sleepers NFL Draft

8. Liberty - 74.6%

Win-Loss Record: 47-16
Conference/National Championships: One/None

Liberty is the only non-power conference team on this list thanks to stud coaches Hugh Freeze and Jamie Chadwell and quarterbacks Malik Willis and Kaidon Salter. Don’t be surprised if the Flames find themselves in the College Football Playoff at some point this decade.

BYU Cougars - NCAA College Team Logo Stock

9. BYU - 71.4%

Win-Loss Record: 45-18
Conference/National Championships: None/None

Many might be surprised to see BYU on this list, but the Cougars have won at least 10 games three times over the last five seasons. Kalani Sitake has established a high floor in Pravo, and BYU should contend for Big 12 titles consistently.

Lane Kiffin - CFB-NCAA-Football-Head-Coach-Ole Miss-icon

10. Ole Miss - 71%

Win-Loss Record: 44-18
Conference/National Championships: None/None

Lane Kiffin evidently learned a lot from his subpar tenure as the USC Trojans’ head coach from 2010 to 2013. He is now one of college football’s best head coaches and has the highest winning percentage among Ole Miss coaches since Johnny Vaught (1947-1970, 1973)
