Week 8 Defense Outlooks for Fantasy Football

Green Bay Packers DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

The Green Bay Packers defense and special teams' unit should be plenty productive in their matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8. The Packers' D/ST has been a strong start all year, but disappointed against the Texans in Week 7, only forcing four sacks and not forcing a turnover for the first time all season.

Prior to last week, the Packers had 5-of-6 weeks in the top-12 of fantasy defenses, so a return seems pretty likely against an aggressive Jaguars' offense that is no stranger to turning the ball over as they are bottom-seven in the league in turnover differential. Look for the Packers to return to prominence this week in fantasy circles as a quality defensive play that's worth of a start in your lineups in Week 8.

- Kevin Tompkins - RotoBaller

Detroit Lions DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

The Detroit Lions D/ST will face the Tennessee Titans in Week 8, a team tied for second in the NFL with 12 giveaways. The Titans have thrown an interception in every game this season, regardless of who has started at quarterback, which bodes well for the Lions. Detroit ranks eighth in takeaways and fourth in interceptions, providing strong turnover potential against Tennessee's sixth-worst scoring offense (17.7 points per game).

While the Lions have struggled against wide receivers, allowing the most targets, receptions, and receiving yards, the recent quarterback change to Mason Rudolph and the departure of DeAndre Hopkins will limit Tennessee's offensive upside. The Lions DST remains a solid option with turnover potential this week.

- Ty Thompson - RotoBaller

New York Jets DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

The New York Jets defense will head on the road to take on the New England Patriots in Week 8. The Patriots' offense has looked much better since turning to rookie quarterback Drake Maye two weeks ago, but this is still a tough spot for a rookie signal-caller against a talented Jets defense. Treat New York's D/ST as a top-10 option heading into Week 8.
