Week 5 Defense Outlooks for Fantasy Football

Chicago Bears DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

The Chicago Bears' defense and special teams aim to maintain their strong performance against the Carolina Panthers this week. While some may be hesitant to back the Bears due to the Panthers averaging 30 points per game with former Bear Andy Dalton at quarterback, the Bears represent the most formidable challenge Dalton has faced.

Dalton boasts a 66.2% completion rate in his two starts and averages 269.5 passing yards per game. This improved play has contributed to wide receiver Diontae Johnson achieving back-to-back games with over seven catches, 80 receiving yards, and a touchdown for the first time in his career.

The Bears have yet to allow more than 21 points in a game and are tied for third in the NFL with eight takeaways. Expect the Bears to slightly disrupt Dalton's resurgence and force him into a turnover or two.

- Martin Grisko, RotoBaller

New York Jets DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

The New York Jets defense will look to slow down a hot Minnesota Vikings offense in Week 5's London game. The Vikings have been a pleasant surprise on offense this season, ranking fourth in the league in points scored per game (29.0) and 10th in yards per game (356.8).

The Jets boast a quality defense but fantasy managers should temper expectations for them heading into Week 5. With the Vikings installed as 2.5-point favorites, the Jets settle in outside of the top-12 fantasy defenses this weekend.

- Matt T., RotoBaller

Las Vegas Raiders DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

The Las Vegas Raiders DST has a great matchup and will face the Denver Broncos in Week 5. Denver's offense has struggled this season, putting the Raiders' DST on the streaming radar for this week. Las Vegas has lacked production all season.

The Raiders have just two takeaways (tied for second last in the NFL) and eight sacks (tied for fourth last) through four games. Las Vegas has allowed 316, 383, 437, and 241 yards in their four games, allowing an average of 22.75 points per game. They have no defensive or special teams touchdowns.

Despite the lack of production, the Raiders are ranked 15th among all fantasy team defenses in the latest RotoBaller rankings and can be used as a streamer with the plus matchup

- John Johnson, RotoBaller
