Super Wild Card Weekend is in the books. Unfortunately, five of the six games were 14 or more point blowouts. Only the Los Angeles Rams against the Detroit Lions was a close and competitive game for a full 60 minutes.
However, several storylines came away from the three-day weekend of football. Most notable was the Lions getting their first playoff win since 1991.
Meanwhile, let’s look at a handful of winners and losers from Wild Card Weekend.

Winners From Wild Card Weekend
The superstar quarterback had a massive performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing a role in every touchdown for the Buffalo Bills. Allen had three passing scores despite missing Gabe Davis and getting only 52 receiving yards from Stefon Diggs. He also had 74 rushing yards, including an impressive 52-yard score in the second quarter. Allen proved he can play at an elite level regardless of his supporting cast.
There is nothing you can say to anyone with doubts about Love. The first-year starter got only one reception for nine receiving yards from Christian Watson and Jayden Reed on Sunday. Yet, he had 272 yards and three touchdowns on only 21 pass attempts. The Green Bay Packers have their guy, and fantasy players should consider him a top-10 quarterback in 2024 drafts.
We already knew Nacua was a fantasy superstar as a rookie. However, I expected many to debate him versus Cooper Kupp in redraft leagues next year. Yet, that discussion is already over. The former BYU star broke an NFL record with 181 receiving yards by a rookie in the playoffs on Sunday. Meanwhile, Kupp had the sixth-most receiving yards on the team (27), finishing with less yards than Ronnie Rivers (35) and Davis Allen (28).
Losers From Wild Card Weekend
The story was fun while it lasted, but Flacco turned back into a pumpkin on Saturday. He had at least one interception in every game this season, tossing two or more in half of the matchups. The veteran struggled against the Houston Texans. Flacco completed 73.9% of his pass attempts, totaling 307 yards. However, he threw two awful pick-sixes in the game. Not only will he not be a starter in 2024, but Flacco might fail to secure a worthy backup role.
Raheem Mostert & De'Von Achane
Unfortunately, the Miami Dolphins offense was awful in the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Mostert and Achane were the best 1-2 punch at running back during the regular season. Yet, neither one could get going against Kansas City, totaling 14 rushing attempts for 42 yards. Will Mostert return in 2024? Can Achane hold up under a featured workload? These questions need to be answered before fantasy football drafts next year. Sadly, neither running back ended the season playing well.
Mike McCarthy & Nick Sirianni
We saw two potential Super Bowl contenders get embarrassed over the weekend. The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles were favored heading into their first-round matchup. Yet, both teams lost by at least 16 points. Rumors are flying around that McCarthy and Sirianni could be unemployed soon. While Sirianni is more likely to return than McCarthy, fans shouldn’t be surprised if both get their walking papers this week.
