Free-agent veteran right-hander Johnny Cueto is interested in pitching for the Estrellas Orientales during next month's round-robin playoff in the Dominican Winter League. He will turn 38 years old in February but intends to pitch in his 17th big-league season in 2024. Cueto has a 4.04 ERA over 325 1/3 innings in the last three seasons with the Miami Marlins, Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants. The 37-year-old was rarely healthy with the Fish in 2023, pitching in just 13 games (10 starts) and posting an ugly 6.02 ERA and 1.26 WHIP while walking 15 and striking out 39 in 52 1/3 innings pitched. The two-time All-Star doesn't have much left in the tank and will probably have to settle for a minor-league deal with a club early next year if he wants to continue his career.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
