1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Alek Thomas will take a seat for Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Thursday with the Philadelphia Phillies throwing left-hander Ranger Suarez. Corbin Carroll will start in center field and bat second, while Emmanuel Rivera will play third base and bat in the eight-hole. Evan Longoria is the designated hitter and is batting seventh. The 23-year-old Thomas hits the bench after hitting just .143 in 81 trips to the plate against lefties during the regular season. He's also gone just 4-for-24 (.167) with two homers, three RBI, eight strikeouts and three runs scored in seven postseason games so far this year. Rivera is 2-for-8 in his career against Suarez with two doubles, four RBI and a strikeout.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
