Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was the 112th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. St. Brown had a productive college career, totaling 178 receptions for 2,270 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns in three years at USC.
The former Trojan had an impressive rookie season, thanks to an outstanding second half. He had 90 receptions on 119 targets for 912 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Furthermore, the rookie led the team in all four categories in 2021.
St. Brown had another excellent year last season, totaling 106 receptions on 146 targets for 1,161 receiving yards and six touchdowns. The former USC star led the team in every category. More importantly, he finished seventh in the NFL in receptions.

Is Amon-Ra St. Brown Playing In Week 5?
Many fantasy players had high hopes for the former third-year receiver this season. St. Brown has been productive, totaling 26 receptions on 35 targets for 331 receiving yards and two touchdowns. However, the star receiver has struggled with injuries.
Unfortunately, the former USC star likely won’t play with an abdomen injury this week. The Lions have labeled St. Brown as doubtful for tomorrow’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
With the star receiver unlikely to play, Detroit will lean on Josh Reynolds, Jameson Williams, and the rookie tight end Sam LaPorta.
Should I Start Jameson Williams?
Fantasy players got excellent news about the former Alabama last week. The second-year receiver had his six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s gambling policy reduced after the league and players association agreed to new rules. Williams will make his season debut tomorrow against Carolina.
However, fantasy players should avoid starting the second-year receiver this week. He is coming off a hamstring injury and has been away from the team for a month. Furthermore, Williams had limited success as a rookie.
The former Alabama star only played six games in 2022, totaling one reception on nine targets for 41 receiving yards and a touchdown. More importantly, the Lions likely will have Williams on a snap count in his first game of the year.
Instead, fantasy players should add Rashee Rice off the waiver wire. The rookie receiver has played well this season, averaging 6.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he leads the team in target per route run rate (36.5%) and yards per route run (2.69).
More importantly, Rice faces the Minnesota Vikings this week. They have surrendered 40.1 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this year, the most in the NFL.
