Should I Draft Drake London or Chris Godwin? Mike Fanelli analyzes NFL players with similar values, and tells you who to pick once you're on the clock in your fantasy football draft.
The 2023 regular season season is almost here. That means fantasy players have less than 10 days to complete all of their fantasy football drafts.
One of the toughest decisions fantasy players have to make every year is deciding between two similar options. Since fantasy players can’t possibly draft both guys, they must make the hard decision on which player to pick.
Today, we look at whether fantasy players should draft Drake London or Chris Godwin.

Should I Draft Drake London?
According to the RotoBaller ADP, London is a late-fifth-round pick in 12-team leagues and the 24th wide receiver off the board. Last year, the former USC star was the WR35, averaging 8.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He ended the season with 72 receptions on 117 targets for 866 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Furthermore, London finished third among rookie wide receivers in receiving yards last season, finishing behind Garrett Wilson (1,103) and Chris Olave (1,042). More importantly, the former USC star finished fifth among wide receivers in target share (29.4%) and 18th in red zone targets (15).
Should I Draft Chris Godwin?
According to the RotoBaller ADP, Godwin is a mid-sixth-round pick in 12-team leagues and the 26th wide receiver off the board. Last year, the veteran was the WR20, averaging 11.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He had 104 receptions on 142 targets for 1,023 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
The former Penn State had over 1,000 receiving yards for the second consecutive year. Furthermore, the veteran wide receiver set career highs in receptions and targets last season despite missing two games.
Who Should I Draft?
Both wide receivers are solid options for fantasy players this season. However, I will draft London before Godwin. Last year, the former USC star caught passes mostly from Marcus Mariota. Unfortunately, the veteran quarterback was one of the more inaccurate quarterbacks in the NFL last season.
London averaged 6.3 receptions on nine targets for 83.3 receiving yards and 10.5 fantasy points per game in the four contests that Desmond Ridder started last year despite not scoring a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Godwin suffered a significant quarterback downgrade. He went from catching passes from Tom Brady to Baker Mayfield. Furthermore, he has meaningful target share competition with Mike Evans on the roster. While fantasy players shouldn’t avoid drafting the veteran wide receiver because of his quarterback situation, Godwin’s fantasy upside is limited this year.
