Gregory Santos Earns Five-Out Save Tuesday
1 year agoChicago White Sox relief pitcher Gregory Santos earned his fourth save of the season in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Cubs. Santos entered the bottom of the eighth inning up by one with one out and the bases empty. He got the final two outs on a groundout and a strikeout and stayed on to pitch the ninth, turning in a 1-2-3 inning with another two strikeouts. The 23-year-old has pitched well all season and could continue to see increasing high-leverage opportunities now that Kendall Graveman is no longer on the team. The White Sox may not see a ton of save opportunities, but Santos' 2.53 ERA and 9.00 K/9 rate make him worth a look in deeper roto leagues at this time.
