One and Done Selections - The Wyndham Championship
In this feature, our golf staff of Joe Nicely, Spencer Aguiar, Andrew Putters, Josh Bennett, Byron Lindeque and our special guest will provide their weekly golf picks every Wednesday. The purpose of this article is to present you with alternative options to consider and hopefully make your selection a much easier process weekly. With that plan in mind, let's get started!

Pretty simple choice for me here. Large greens with many easy and accessible shots into all of the greens (short irons & wedges in particular), I’m looking to play any guy in the field that’s elite with their irons/wedges. Although some may be better in the very short term (which I don’t think is worth considering), it’s hard to find someone that’s as good consistently as Henley is on approach. This event is quite often described as a putting contest, but putting becomes much easier when you’re hitting it closer to the hole than others, so I tend to look past Henley (and others’) poor overall putting. Three top 5 finishes in this event in a row should be all you need to back that up. Looking forward to another solid performance by Henley to make up for a couple bad weeks in this contest for me down the stretch.

The season can't be going any worse for me than it has through seven months, so why not end on a high of taking the golfer that has burned me more than anyone in 2023?
Noren experienced a massive increase in projection because of his first-place grade for what I called a "pitch-and-putt" contest. That took expected make rates with the flat stick when given the weighted proximity between 125-175 yards.
The field will experience an 8.2% increase from that distance because of the eight holes that stretch between 400-450 yards, and Noren's three top-23 finishes over his last four starts does show a better floor for him than we had seen early in the season.

Byron Lindeque - Adam Schenk
A T6 from Rory at the Open was “fine” but we needed a W from that kind of star power in our OAD slot. All good, this week we have captain upside, who, based off his last seven starts, will either black out before the wedding party serves dinner or shut down the dance floor with half his clothes scattered throughout the reception hall.
Adam Schenk has finished 7th or better in four of his last seven starts. That is just far too much upside to pass up on. A top-20 is a nice payout, but the stars have been aligning for Schenk for some time now and I really think he gets it done this week.
His iron play has been sensational recently, ranking 6th in this field. The Open was a disaster on approach, losing 3 strokes en route to a missed cut which broke an 8 event streak of gaining with his irons. During that run, he gained no less than +0.32 per round, which is an impressive floor to have as part of a very important aspect of the game.
If Schenk can not overindulge at the open bar, his game is trending towards potentially leaving this wedding as the bride after a pair of runner up finishes this year already.
