It was an eventful Sunday for Martin Truex, Jr., the favored driver to win the Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway. After starting in 10th-place, Truex got bumped in the rear end early by Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and immediately lost 15+ positions on the track. The No. 19 Toyota ran in the mid-20s for quite some time before crew chief, James Small, played the strategy card with pit timing during green flag pit stops. That strategy worked out well for Truex, as he was able to come home with a 7th-place finish when it was all said and done He now has finishes of 7th-, 11th, and 7th-place at Richmond in this NextGen car. Looking at the points standings, Truex now owns a 39-point advantage over 2nd-place Denny Hamlin with four races remaining in the regular season.--Jordan McAbee
