Kodai Senga Looking To Keep Strong Stretch Going Thursday
New York Mets pitcher Kodai Senga will look to keep the good times rolling on Thursday when he gets the ball for a home start against the Washington Nationals. The rookie right-hander has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five straight starts and in six of his last seven, although he did surrender two earned runs in just 3 1/3 innings before a rain delay cut his last start against the Red Sox short. Nonetheless, the right-hander has been racking up a plethora of strikeouts, punching out 46 batters over his last six starts spanning 34 1/3 innings of work, elevating him to a healthy 29.7% K% alongside his 3.27 ERA across 18 starts. He will face a Nationals offense that is tied for 22nd with a .304 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season.
