WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (7/9/23): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings, FanDuel

WNBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball stock

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 7/9/23. Expert WNBA DFS advice for DraftKings, FanDuel.

Big day in the WNBA, as 10 of the league's 12 teams are in action, with only Seattle and New York not playing. Games will happen all day, with the Mystics and Sun kicking things off at 3:00 PM ET. Games will be going all the way until the 8:00 PM tip of Dream/Sky.

If you're looking for WNBA daily fantasy picks and some betting advice this season, then you're in the right place. I'll be here providing picks for any slate with two or more games, as well as adding a little betting advice.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. These lineup picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. The slates lock on 7/9/2023 at 3:00 PM ET. Want to talk more about the WNBA? I'm always available on Twitter and always down to discuss women's basketball: @juscarts.

WNBA DFS Picks: Forward

Alyssa Thomas (Connecticut Sun)  - vs. WAS - DK: $11,700, FD: $9,400

Alyssa Thomas's ability to fill the stat sheet up makes her one of the highest-ceiling plays in the WNBA. She's had two triple-doubles over the last four games, something that's really unheard of in this league. She's also had double-digit assists in three of the last four.

Thomas played just 23 minutes last game against the Storm because she didn't really need to play a ton in the 20-point win. But even in that limited action, she put up 16 points, five rebounds, seven assists, one block, and three steals.

Twice this season, Thomas has faced the Mystics, and she posted a double-double in both contests. In the most recent one back on May 23, she had 22 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.

Cheyenne Parker (Atlanta Dream)  - @ CHI - DK: $9,300, FD: $6,700

Cheyenne Parker has seen a little dip in her numbers lately, including scoring in single digits in two of the last four games. Before that, she had just one game all season where she failed to get 10 or more points.

Last game, Parker helped take down her former team, the Chicago Sky. Her shot was a little off as she shot 38.5% from the floor, but she still filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and four blocks. It was her second double-double in a row.

Queen Egbo (Washington Mystics)  - @ CON - DK: $4,200, FD: $4,400

Queen Egbo made her Mystics debut last game, playing 15 minutes and going 1-for-1 with three points, two rebounds, and two assists. For having just arrived in D.C. on game day, it was a solid showing for Egbo, even if it only produced 7.5 DraftKings points.

I'd expect to see more minutes for Egbo in this one. Even with Elena Delle Donne expected back from her two-game absence, the Mystics will still need help at the five with Shakira Austin out. Egbo has the best skill set to help the team weather Austin's absence. Her price is low enough for me to take a chance on her role increasing on Sunday, even if she's still new to this team.

WNBA DFS Picks: Guard

Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas Wings)  - @ IND - DK: $10,100, FD:  $7,300

Arike Ogunbowale's efficiency is, as always, a bit of a concern, but that's more of a real-life issue than a fantasy issue. When it comes to DFS, one of the biggest things is volume, and Ogunbowale gets volume. She's taken 41 field goals over the last two games, for instance. Last time out against the Aces, Ogunbowale scored 21 points. She's also had an uptick in steals lately, averaging 3.5 of them over the past two games.

She faces Indiana in this one, a team that allows the third-most points per game in the WNBA, 85.9 per game. They also allow the third-most made threes per game.

Courtney Williams (Chicago Sky)  - vs. ATL - DK: $9,400, FD: $7,400

Courtney Williams had a let-down game last time out against the Dream, which was surprising. Atlanta allows the most points per game, and Williams was coming off a 28-point effort in her previous game. But she was just 1-for-6 from the floor in that one.

Good news, though. Williams gets another shot on Sunday against a defense that she should be able to put points up against. If she can keep up the assist numbers -- seven or more in three straight games -- then this can be a big spot for Williams, who'll hopefully take double-digit field goal attempts as she's done in two of the last four games.

Zia Cooke (Los Angeles Sparks)  - @ PHO - DK: $4,800, FD: $4,400

The Sparks enter this game with a lot of players out. No Lexie Brown still. No Layshia Clarendon still. And now Karlie Samuelson is out as well with a foot injury.

Enter rookie Zia Cooke. She played 22 minutes last game against Atlanta, scoring 11 points on 4-for-9 shooting. It was her third game in a row to score double-digit points. With Samuelson out for this entire game, Cooke should have a chance to surpass her season high of 25 minutes. Her increased role lately suggests that this could be a huge one for Cooke.
