WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (7/5/23): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings, FanDuel

WNBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball stock

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 7/5/23. Expert WNBA DFS advice for DraftKings, FanDuel.

After two days off, the WNBA is back in action on Wednesday evening with four games on the docket. First up, the Mercury visit the Liberty, then the Fever take on the Lynx. For the late-night crowd, we've got Wings/Aces and Dream/Sparks. Some good action on deck tonight.

If you're looking for WNBA daily fantasy picks and some betting advice this season, then you're in the right place. I'll be here providing picks for any slate with two or more games, as well as adding a little betting advice.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. These lineup picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. The slates lock on 7/5/2023 at 7:00 PM ET. Want to talk more about the WNBA? I'm always available on Twitter and always down to discuss women's basketball: @juscarts.

WNBA DFS Picks: Forward

Breanna Stewart (New York Liberty)  - vs. PHO - DK: $13,000, FD: $9,500

Stewart's been the best DFS play in the league this season, and she remains that heading into a matchup with one of the WNBA's worst defenses.

Last time out, Stewart scored 20 points on 8-for-19 shooting in a win over her former team, the Seattle Storm. She also added eight rebounds, six assists, one block, and five steals. The former MVP can fill the stat sheet in a variety of ways.

On the season, Stewart is averaging 22.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1,7 steals per contest. Just an absolute master class this season from Stewie, who should be in another great spot tonight.

Dearica Hamby (Los Angeles Sparks)  - vs. ATL - DK: $8,200, FD: $5,700

The Dream allow 89.5 points per game, the most in the WNBA, so I like the idea of always having some exposure to the team facing Atlanta. It's a way to make your ceiling higher.

There are a number of Sparks players you could go for here. Nneka Ogwumike as your top-priced play over Breanna Stewart isn't a bad idea, for example. But I want to highlight Hamby since she's a little more of a value.

Last time out against the Dream, Hamby played 34 minutes, scoring 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting with eight rebounds and three assists. That's now three times in the last four games that Hamby's scored in double figures, and she's upped her rebounds over the last two games.

Dorka Juhasz (Minnesota Lynx)  - vs. IND - DK: $7,400, FD: $4,800

Jessica Shepard is still out with a non-COVID illness and now hasn't played since June 11. Hopefully, Shepard's okay at this point—she and Los Angeles Sparks guard Lexie Brown have both been out with non-COVID illnesses since essentially the same time, which came right after a Sparks/Lynx game.

With Shepard out, rookie Dorka Juhasz has had a chance to impress. She's played 20-plus minutes in all but one game since Shepard has been out, and right now she's on a run of four games in a row with at least six points and six rebounds.

Last time out, she was 2-f0r-3 for six points and pulled down six rebounds, both her worst mark since June 20. But she added two assists, one block, and three steals to the sheet as well, boosting her numbers.

WNBA DFS Picks: Guard

Rhyne Howard (Atlanta Dream)  - @ LA - DK: $9,300, FD:  $6,800

On Sunday against this same Los Angeles team, Rhyne Howard was unstoppable. The second-year guard scored 43 points on 14-for-20 shooting in that one, going 6-for-12 from three and 9-for-9 from the charity stripe.

In addition to the scoring, Howard also added two rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and two steals to the stat sheet as well. It was just a dominant game for the 2022 Rookie of the Year.

She won't set another career high in scoring tonight, but Howard has scored 20-plus points in two of the last four contests and has pushed her season scoring average up to 18.2 points. I say ride the hot hand here.

Courtney Vandersloot (New York Liberty)  - vs. PHO - DK: $8,700, FD: $7,200

Vandersloot is coming off arguably her best game of the season, scoring 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting in a win over Seattle while also adding 13 assists, five rebounds, two blocks, and four steals.

Sloot's now scored in double figures in five consecutive games, which is made more impressive when you consider that she went 0-for-something from deep in three of those. She's the best passer in the W, so there's always a chance she collects double-digit assists, as she's done twice in the past five games.

Phoenix allows the third-most points, third-most assists, and fifth-most steals per game,

Odyssey Sims (Dallas Wings)  - @ LV - DK: $3,000, FD: $3,900

Sims costing the minimum on DraftKings is appealing because the veteran point guard has given Dallas some good minutes this season. She currently ranks second in the WNBA in assists per 40 minutes, behind only Courtney Vandersloot.

The former Baylor guard returned to the Wings last game, signing a rest-of-season contract after the team moved on from Jasmine Dickey and Ashley Joens to create roster space. In her return, she was relatively quiet, playing 16 minutes and scoring five points on 1-for-2 shooting with three assists.

But the very nature of her return—the Wings cutting multiple young players to make room for her—suggests to me that her role should grow. I'd expect her to usually be closer to five or six assists, so if she can just up her scoring volume a tad, she'd be a great value option.
