Max Meyer Could Pitch In Arizona Fall League
1 year agoMiami Marlins pitching prospect Max Meyer (elbow) could be available to pitch in the Arizona Fall League later this year. Meyer, the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, had Tommy John surgery last August, but he could be ready to resume pitching this fall in October through November. The 24-year-old right-hander made his major-league debut for the Fish in 2022 and allowed five runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out six in six innings over two starts. He had a 3.69 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 19 walks and 69 strikeouts in 61 innings over 13 starts in the minors for Single-A Jupiter and Triple-A Jacksonville. Meyer has the strength and athleticism to remain a starter in the big leagues, and his wipeout slider is his biggest weapon.
