A.J. Allmendinger has not had the season he expected with Kaulig Racing. Worse, he begins Darlington on Sunday from the 30th position. The No. 16 Chevy has shown little late speed and his total speed intervals keep slipping. So, the hope for some long-run magic is almost zero. The best bet may be to stay away from Allmendinger until the next road race. He did finish seventh at Austin but that was his only top ten all season (11 races). The 18th and 14th at Dover and Kansas were nice recoveries but poor qualifying has hamstrung any chances to contend most weeks.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
